Behind The Wheel
A virtual museum showcasing Porsche's design evolution from the 1950s to 2055 through interactive experiences.

Project Brief
The objective was to design an immersive virtual museum that captures the evolution of Porsche Design over the years. The experience showcases at least seven iconic Porsche models, featuring both exterior and interior details. The virtual space integrates intuitive, interactive elements to engage users while delivering an educational journey through Porsche’s design legacy, making it accessible and enriching for audiences of all backgrounds.

The Problem
Creating a user-centric and engaging digital experience presents a unique challenge when translating the history and design evolution of Porsche into a virtual format. The key problem lies in designing an immersive virtual museum that not only captures the aesthetic and engineering details of at least seven Porsche models but also ensures intuitive navigation, meaningful interaction, and educational value. The goal is to create a digital environment that feels accessible, interactive, and visually compelling, allowing users to explore Porsche’s design evolution in a way that is both informative and engaging.
The Impact
This virtual museum is capable of a powerful impact on people by making information accessible to everyone, no matter where they live. They allow users to explore certain features of Porsche Design at their own pace, and offers interactive features that make learning more engaging for users.
Lets Dive In

User Research
Through extensive online research, I learned that we will be serving a diverse audience, ranging from automotive enthusiasts with extensive knowledge about vehicles to individuals with little or no expertise who are learning about cars for the first time.
Site Map Navigation
Since we have a lot of information to house, it was best to plan out and structure it before executing the design. To the right is a chart of how I planned on having my information organized.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
Below are some examples of my low-fidelity wireframes. This was a stage in the design process that allowed me to visualize how I wanted specific screens of the design to flow and operate without establishing a brand identity yet.

Typography and Color
I decided to use a minimalistic, sleek, and professional color palette while incorporating a sporty and sophisticated typeface for the overall design. I did not want my overall design to be to flashy because the main purpose of the museum is to educate users.
The Final Product
It was exciting to see my ideas come to life. The high-fidelity prototype below showcases how intuitive the flow is for all types of users.
Feature 01 - Timeline
The timeline feature was the ideal choice for this system, as it allows us to showcase Porsche’s design evolution in a clear, chronological order. Additionally, the timeline serves as the homepage, providing users with an intuitive entry point to explore the brand’s history.
Feature 02 - Exterior Mode
To enhance engagement, I incorporated an interactive feature that allows you to choose the color in which you view the vehicle. You can explore the vehicle from multiple angles, categorized as front profile, side profile, and rear profile. Each category is rich with touchpoints offering detailed information for an immersive exploration experience.
Feature 03 - Interior Mode
For each Porsche model on the timeline, there is an option to view a 180 degree angle of the interior of the vehicle. Since this panoramic view is divided into several screens, each screen includes touchpoints that allow the participant to read about specific parts of the interior. This design was created to promote both an interactive and informative experience.
Key Takeaways
This project was an immensely valuable learning experience. Throughout the process, I gained deep insights into designing for user needs and preferences, understanding how every decision can significantly shape the overall experience of the final museum. My professor recognized my efforts with an A grade.
